Say NO to ASHWAGANDHA
The reason is that clinical studies on its cortisol-reducing effects have shown mixed results—some demonstrate benefits, while others do not. The studies that show an effect indicate that consistent intake of high concentrations for about 30 to 112 days is required to reduce cortisol levels by 11–32.63%¹. However, prolonged use of Ashwagandha can lead to notable side effects, such as diarrhea. Moreover, most of the products containing Ashwagandha had no clinical studies on the specific products, unclear amounts of adaptogens, and a significant cortisol reduction is rather improbable.
